About
I have a level 3 childcare qualification and am studying a bachelors degree in early years studies at the moment.
My childcare experience is as follows:
Childminding Assistant
Una’s childminding service – Nottingham
August 2019 to Present
While working as a childminding assistant I have taken the opportunity to learn about the business management side of childcare and have assisted with policy making, fees, funding, bills and complaints. After working in a nursery environment I have enjoyed working in a smaller setting to enable myself to have this one to one training in these areas but now miss the busy environment of a nursery setting. I now feel that I am ready to more proactively use my level 3 qualification and knowledge of the EYFS in a larger setting in order to progress in my early years role.
In my role as a childminding assistant I am responsible for setting up activities while always following the children’s interests and taking their lead. I am responsible for my own key children, monitoring their development through their next steps and observations.
I liaise with parents on a daily basis and enjoy working with parents to enable their children to settle in and get the most out of their time with us. As well as liaising with parents I also help to liaise with our local authority, health visitors and schools/nurseries in order to provide the best well rounded care for each child in our care.
I have up to date prevent duty training and safeguarding and an up to date paediatric first aid certificate.
Nursery Assistant
The Learning Tree Nursery – Nottingham
February 2018 to June 2019
My time at the Learning Tree was incredibly valuable, allowing me to gain key experience working with children from six weeks to five years. I have worked throughout the nursery in the baby, toddler and pre school rooms and have been mainly based in the pre school room.
While in the pre school room I have been responsible for planning, observing and setting next steps for my ten key children and liaising with parents on a regular basis to aid children’s development.
I have been active in my approach to setting up and creating activities and greatly enjoy offering new and exciting activities to the children, always following their lead to extend their learning experience.
I have used my own initiative to set up engaging and educational and fundraising activities for Valentine’s Day, Red Nose Day, Easter and mother’s day and have very much enjoyed having this responsibility.
During my time here I have also worked with children with varying needs and disabilities including speech delay, autism, global development delay and epilepsy.
